Designed primarily as a self-drive adventure, this itinerary can also be adapted for a motorcycle road trip with models such as Harley-Davidson or Indian Motorcycle. After your first urban stop, continue towards Moab to discover the red arches of Arches National Park and the endless canyons of Canyonlands National Park. Day 2 : Salt Lake City
Discover Salt Lake City, the gateway to your American West adventure. Explore the capital of Utah, where Mormon heritage and modern life blend together harmoniously. Admire the impressive Utah State Capitol and visit the iconic Temple Square.
For nature lovers, Antelope Island and the spectacular Great Salt Lake offer beautiful scenery and scenic trails (additional fee not included in the America the Beautiful Pass). If time allows, the famous Bonneville Salt Flats are also well worth the detour for unforgettable photos. End the day with panoramic views from Ensign Peak Park before the adventure truly begins.

Day 4 : Moab/Cortez - 189 km

After exploring these spectacular Western-style landscapes, follow the scenic road along the Colorado River, surrounded by towering cliffs and breathtaking views. You’ll then arrive in Castle Valley, a peaceful hidden gem far from mass tourism, where striking red rock formations meet majestic mountain peaks. Keep an eye out along the way, you may even spot horses from nearby ranches.
At the end of the day, continue towards Cortez.

Day 5 : Cortez/Bluff - 103 km
After your night in Cortez, discover Mesa Verde National Park, a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park preserves the exceptional remains of the Ancestral Puebloan civilisation, which thrived here for more than 700 years. Explore the fascinating archaeological sites and impressive cliff dwellings carved into the rock.
Don’t miss the Ranger-guided tours, especially the famous Spruce Tree House area. Day 6 : Bluff/Page par Monument Valley - 277 km
Head towards Page via the legendary Monument Valley. Located within the Navajo Nation Reservation, this iconic landscape instantly transports you into the scenery of classic Western movies ($20 per vehicle, not included in the America the Beautiful Pass). Explore the valley by car, stopping at its most spectacular viewpoints, including the famous John Ford Point.
Before arriving, discover the lesser-known dirt road through Valley of the Gods, equally breathtaking and far less crowded. Then tackle the dramatic switchbacks of Moki Dugway leading to Muley Point Overlook and its stunning panoramic views. Movie lovers should not miss the iconic Forrest Gump Point to recreate the famous scene.
End your day in Page, where Lake Powell and the impressive Glen Canyon Dam provide a spectacular finale between natural beauty and engineering achievement.

Day 7 : Page/Bryce Canyon - 240 km
Your day begins with the must-see Antelope Canyon, famous for its fascinating curves and magical light beams. This world-renowned natural wonder attracts visitors from around the globe. Don’t miss Horseshoe Bend and its spectacular view over the winding Colorado River ($10 per vehicle).
Then continue towards Bryce Canyon National Park, renowned for its thousands of colourful hoodoos sculpted by erosion over millions of years. Admire these incredible formations from the panoramic viewpoints or enjoy the popular Sunset to Sunrise Trail (approximately 1 hour). The park can also be explored by bike or on horseback. Sunrise and sunset here are simply unforgettable.

Day 8 : Bryce Canyon
Enjoy a full extra day in Bryce Canyon National Park to experience everything you may not have had time to discover the day before.
We recommend venturing off the beaten path to Mossy Cave Trail, located along Scenic Route 12 outside the park’s main area. This quieter 1.6 km round-trip hike offers a completely different perspective on the region’s rock formations. Along the trail, you’ll discover a small waterfall and a stream, a rare sight within this desert landscape.
Far from the crowds, this hike reveals another side of Bryce Canyon National Park and highlights how water helped shape this extraordinary scenery, creating not only the famous hoodoos, but also caves and small waterways.

Day 9 : Bryce Canyon/Kanab par Zion NP - 120 km
Departure for Zion National Park. To avoid both the heat and the crowds (depending on the season), we recommend arriving early in the day. The park has two main entrances, but your itinerary continues via the East Entrance.
During summer, free shuttle buses operate from the South Entrance and provide easy access to the park’s main highlights. One of the most popular hikes is the Canyon Overlook Trail, a short one-hour round-trip walk rewarded with spectacular panoramic views. It’s an excellent introduction to the park for travellers with limited time. In the late afternoon, continue towards Kanab, a charming Western-style town perfect for a relaxing evening in the heart of Utah.

Day 10 : Kanab/Grand Canyon - 334 km
Then head towards the legendary South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Here, the possibilities are endless: hike along the rim, explore panoramic viewpoints using the free shuttle buses, or simply admire this natural masterpiece from the canyon’s edge. Every moment feels unforgettable.
For the ultimate experience, we highly recommend a helicopter flight. It is undoubtedly the most spectacular way to appreciate the immense scale and beauty of the canyon. Flying above these dramatic cliffs and endless gorges offers breathtaking views and truly unforgettable memories.

Day 12 : Sedona/Las Vegas - 450 km

Set off in the early afternoon as the landscapes gradually transform from the desert scenery of Arizona to the vibrant atmosphere of Nevada. Arrival in Las Vegas is planned for late afternoon, just in time to watch the city come alive. As night falls and the neon lights illuminate the Strip, the true energy of Vegas begins to reveal itself.
For your evening in Sin City, stroll along the famous Strip, try your luck on the slot machines, even just for fun, and enjoy the city’s iconic free shows, from the fountains of Bellagio to the volcano show formerly at The Mirage. Day 13 : Las Vegas/Vallée de la Mort - 400n km
Head towards Death Valley National Park, a land of surreal landscapes and extreme conditions. This legendary desert is filled with spectacular natural sites. Don’t miss Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America, or Zabriskie Point, famous for its breathtaking panoramic views, especially at sunrise.
The dunes of Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, the colourful hills of Artist's Palette and the stunning viewpoint at Dante's View each offer completely unique scenery. For hikers, early morning walks through canyons such as Golden Canyon or Mosaic Canyon are highly recommended before temperatures rise.

Day 14 : Vallée de la Mort/Sequoia NP - 400 km
Departure for Sequoia National Park, deep within a forest of giants. Make a stop at the Giant Forest Museum, the perfect introduction to the park’s unique ecosystem and its ancient giant sequoias.
Then drive along the scenic Generals Highway, where spectacular viewpoints appear around almost every corner. For a more immersive experience, we recommend the The President Tree Trail or the popular Big Trees Trail, both offering an unforgettable walk among these towering giants.
You’ll also pass through the famous Tunnel Log, an 84-metre giant sequoia that fell naturally and was carved to allow vehicles to drive through it.

Day 15 : Exeter/Los Angeles - 288 km
Discover Los Angeles starting with the iconic Venice Beach. Stroll along its sandy beach or rent a bike to ride the oceanfront cycle path, perfect for watching surfers and beach volleyball players in true Californian style.
Don’t miss the lively Venice Beach Boardwalk, an open-air stage filled with street performers, musicians and colourful characters creating a unique atmosphere. Continue towards the famous Santa Monica Pier, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Shopping lovers will also enjoy the neighbourhood’s vintage boutiques and local artistic creations.
We’ll also share our favourite spot for the best donuts in town, a true local treat. For your second day in Los Angeles, follow your own rhythm and interests. It’s the perfect opportunity to continue exploring the city and discover anything you may have missed the day before. Each neighbourhood in LA has its own unique atmosphere and deserves to be experienced at your own pace.
If you are looking for a more relaxing escape away from the city’s energy, head towards Malibu, known for its beautiful beaches and laid-back coastal vibe.
For movie lovers, Universal Studios Hollywood remains an absolute must-see. Spend the day enjoying thrilling attractions inspired by iconic films, live shows and the famous studio tour. Fans of Harry Potter will especially love The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which alone is worth the visit. We recommend dedicating a full day to the park and arriving early to make the most of the experience.
