Horseback Riding Adventure in Mongolia The Orkhon Valley

Embark on an unforgettable horseback and cultural adventure through the unspoiled highlands of Mongolia. Your journey takes you deep into Naiman Nuur National Park, meaning “Eight Lakes”, perched at an altitude of 2,400 metres in the heart of the majestic Khangai Mountains. Starting from the Orkhon Waterfall, you will follow ancient forest trails closed to motorised vehicles, riding through Siberian larch and pine forests before crossing wide valleys scattered with ancient volcanic rocks.

Discover the legendary Eight Lakes !

Your adventure continues to a series of spectacular lakes born from volcanic activity. Admire the turquoise waters of Lake Shireet, the jewel of the region, before riding on to Lakes Khaliut, Bugat, Khaya and Shanaa. At Bayan Uul, marvel at these pristine alpine lakes, whose crystal-clear waters contrast beautifully with the surrounding red volcanic landscapes. The trail then winds through lush alpine meadows before climbing to barren mountain ridges, where sweeping views stretch across Mongolia’s endless steppe.

Even in summer, this high-altitude region offers cool temperatures and unpredictable weather. Snowfall is possible from June onwards, and sudden mountain showers are part of the experience. This remarkable expedition is designed for riders seeking remote wilderness, breathtaking scenery and an authentic encounter with Mongolia’s timeless nomadic traditions.

Flexible departure dates: Contact us to plan your trip. We recommend travelling between early June and late August to enjoy the best weather conditions.

From €3500 per person - Minimum 2 participants.
